2012 Research & Creative Activity Grants
The Graduate School announces the process for awarding Graduate Student Research and Creative Activity Grants to assist with funding of a research or creative activity project to be conducted in spring or summer of 2012. Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to graduate students* who are selected through a competitive process conducted by the Graduate Council.

How to Apply:
- Submit the Application Form by November 28, 2011. The form does not accept attachments, so prepare your content separately and copy and paste it into the fields of the form.
- Ask your advisor, Graduate Program Director, or another faculty member to review your application and submit a Recommendation on your behalf. At least one recommendation must be submitted per application by November 28, 2011.
Applications will be judged on the following criteria:
- The project will make a unique contribution to the field as evidenced in the description of the purpose, objectives, research questions or artist's statement, methods, and anticipated outcomes/impacts.
- The student has the academic preparation and practical expertise to conduct the project.
- The project can be completed according to the proposed timeline and by August 31, 2012.
- The budget is reasonable and other sources of funding (if any) are identified.
- The project is of sufficient quality that the results can be presented at a regional or national meeting or other venue, published in a peer-reviewed journal, or create a product of significant commercial value.
- The student agrees to present a poster of progress to date at IdeaFest (April 11-12, 2012).
*Students who have not previously received a Graduate Research Grant will receive priority.
Submit Applications by November 28, 2011. Grant recipients will be notified via email on December 16, 2011.
