What is Head Start?

Head Start is a comprehensive program that provides educational, health, nutrition, and family services to preschool children and their families.

Mission

The USD Head Start Program provides children and families with an exemplary preschool program.  The lives of our children and families are enhanced through our comprehensive program that includes health, nutrition, mental health, education, and family services.  Parent and Community involvement and collaboration are emphasized throughout the program.

                       

Program History

HAPPY 25TH - USD HEAD START!!!

The USD Head Start program is in year 25 of operation.  The program has continued to grow year after year.  The Head Start program currently serves 155 children through center base and home base services, with an additional 15 children and families served through the Full Day Full Year Program.  

Application Information

The following items will need to be included with your application:

  • Proof of income (including W2 forms, income tax return or pay stubs)

  • Copy of child immunizations record

  • Copy of child birth certificate

  • Copy of Medicaid/Insurance cards
