To obtain a minor in health sciences, you must choose six of the following eight courses. All of the courses are part of the required core for the health sciences major.

Outcomes expected for all students who complete the minor:
- Recognize the moral dimensions and accept responsibility for the consequences of actions
- Demonstrate effective communication
- Interact with members of the health care community to enhance patient care/services and/or organizational management
- Work within a team to plan and /or achieve a shared goal
- Recognize one's role in the community and how one can have a positive impact
- Develop problem solving skills that transcend disciplinary boundaries
- Demonstrate openness to diverse people, ideas and experiences
- Recognize personal responsibilities as a global citizen
The courses in the minor, all a component of the requirements for a major in health sciences, are specifically developed to include the above outcomes. Each course provides a variety of learning experiences, including guest speakers, written papers, service-learning and/or field experiences. Experiential learning will enhance the opportunity for individual growth and the development of each outcome and competency at completion of the minor.
