Bio:
Professor Heidi Johnson-Anderson has been a practicing nurse since 1986 and has been teaching in Nursing Education since 1992. In addition to her work with USD Nursing she also practices at a 25 bed rural hospital. Her career highlights include extensive work with Simulation as a teaching/learning strategy. Her work has led to publications and national presentations in this area. Heidi has taught at all levels of the USD Nursing curriculum and has provided statewide leadership in curriculum development and implementation of Simulation as a teaching strategy. She is currently working on a Doctorate in Education Administration at the University of South Dakota with a projected completion date of Summer 2014. Her dissertation will focus on the value of near-peer mentoring/partnerships in nursing education.
