Bio:
I have 14 years of maternal/child health nursing experience in both the rural and urban settings. I am a certified inpatient obstetric nurse with an added qualification in electronic fetal monitoring. I was in the Army Nurse Corps for 6 years. This is my second year as a full-time instructor for the University of South Dakota. I am currently attending graduate school at the University of Southern Indiana in the nurse educator track with an expected graduation of May 2013.
Teaching Interests:
My primary teaching interest is the maternal/child health content in the ADN program. Specifically I enjoy working with students in both simulation and clinical. My long term goal is to teach in the BSN program at the University of South Dakota.
Research Interests:
Research is crucial to the advancement of nursing practice. I am interested in researching ways to bridge the gap between informatics, nursing education, and nursing practice.
Education:
  • MS, Nursing Education, University of Southern Indiana,
  • BS, Nursing, South Dakota State University, 1996
