Prerequisites for MSW Program

You must obtain a bachelor or graduate degree from an accredited college or university for full admission to our program. Individuals holding a bachelor degree in social work from an accredited CSWE program may request consideration for advanced standing.

Cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, for the last two years of undergraduate study, or demonstration that you are able to maintain a 3.0 in graduate study is required. This can be demonstrated if a student has successfully completed two or more graduate courses. Prerequisite Courses (Must have a C or better in all prerequisites)


Semester Credit Hours




Human biology content required.  Acceptable Courses:  Biology 105, Anatomy & Physiology, Biology course with Human Biology content from any university.




Human Lifespan Development



Three Additional Courses in the Social/Behavioral Sciences


Ex: Anthropology, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, History, Human Relations

*Deficits in any of these areas will not prohibit admission; however, the course(s) would need to be completed prior to beginning the program with documentation of completion provided.
