| Our History |
Training of M.A. level graduate students in the program began in 1961. In
1964 the Department of Psychology was authorized to offer the Ph.D. degree with specialty
areas in Clinical, General Experimental and Human Factors Psychology. The first Ph.D.'s in
Human Factors were graduated in August, 1966. To this date, a total of 64 Ph.D.'s have
been awarded in the program.
Since authorization of the Ph.D. degree, staffing in Human Factors has increased
significantly and the research capabilities of the laboratory have expanded to include a
number of major areas of human factors research:
