Biographies:

Carly Joy Beusch was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on March 6, 1977. She moved to Yankton, South Dakota in 1991 and graduated from Yankton High School in 1995. She now attends the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where she is a member of the Honors Program. She has not declared a major, but is considering international business. Her hobbies include volleyball, softball, golf, singing, art, reading, doing Western Civilizations projects, and sleeping in during her spare time. You can email Carly at cbeusch@sunbird.usd.edu during the school year or gbeusch@aol.comduring the summer.

Mike Harkness was born August 27, 1976 in a small town in Iowa. He graduated from Elk Point High School in 1995. Now he attends the University of South Dakota and participates enthusiastically in the Honors Program. He hasn't chosen a major, but he is leaning towards Physics because of the challenges and discipline involved, and also because we told him he had to think of something for this page, Mike! and he thought it sounded good. He has been a computer technician at Gateway 2000 since the spring of 1995. His hobbies include pool and basketball, and he is an avid pro football fan. You can email Mike at mharknes@sunbird.usd.edu

Sheila Marie Lane is a senior at the University of South Dakota. She will graduate (finally!) in May of 1997, after five years, four schools, and six majors. She is an English major and a Theatre minor, with Honors. Her eventual goal is to make a living as an actress and a writer. Sheila is active on the Internet. She edits several fan magazines and runs a mailing list. She also participates in USD Theatre productions--including the upcoming "A Midsummer Night's Dream"--and is preparing to write her thesis over the summer. When she is not busy with stories or plays, Sheila likes to watch television, read trashy books, call her best friend, and take naps. She doesn't get to do any of those things as often as she would like. You can email Sheila at slane@sunbird.usd.edu

Adria Meredith was born May 27 in Yankton, South Dakota. She graduated from Gayville-Volin High School in 1995. She is a freshman at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. She is majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. She is also in the Honors Program. She works at a nursing home here in Vermillion and would eventually like to be a physical therapist. Her hobbies include shooting pool (which she's very good at), reading, taking long walks, and painting--she says she's not very good at it, but she loves to do it. You can email Adria at ameredit@sunfish.usd.edu during the school year.

Megan Shannon hails from Columbus, Nebraska, and is a Presidential Alumni Scholar at the University of South Dakota. She is a Political Science major and a Spanish minor. Megan is aiming for a career in international law and eventually hopes to serve in the United States government. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, playing the piano, reading, and driving large vans. Megan is also a loyal Husker fan. You can email Megan at mlshanno@sunbird.usd.edu
