Harriet Tubman is one of the better know people of the Underground Railroad. Tubman, an escaped slave herself, helped over 300 slaves escape. Fredrick Douglass was one of the many africans to escape from slavery, who started to change the way people thought of africans during that time. There wasn't much change at first, but the movement was started, and continues even today.
