During and before the Civil War, the "conductors" of the Underground Railroad, and other people of the South used quilts to pass information undetected. This page uses a "quilt" to pass the information we have gathered for Underground Revolutions.
Revolutions date all the way back to the beginning of time. Each revolution is unique while sharing many characteristics. Underground revolutions are no exception. Underground revolutions such as the Underground Railroad, the Russian Revolution, and the Danish Revolution are revolutions which spring up as resistance to a change in the normal ways of life. What makes underground revolutions so unique is that they are usually carried out with a lot of secrecy, by using illegal action, and trying to avoid coming into direct contact with the people they are revolting against by using sabotage and smuggling. Underground revolutions are sometimes called counter-revolutions, but as you will see in the following three examples, they should actually be considered revolutions within themselves and not counter-revolutions. Underground revolutions that many people tend not to know about are just as important to the people affected as revolutions that everyone knows about. Therefore, the purpose of this web page is perhaps to lift the cover off of underground revolutions in order to reveal the true importance and meaning behind them.
