The Winning Design As Selected By The Little Bighorn Batlefield National Monument Advisory Committee Submitted by John R. Collins and Alison J. Towers Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

On 11 November 1999, a groundbreaking ceremony was performed at the construction site for the American Indian Memorial. In order to make it a people project, I offered all those in attendance the opportunity to break ground and make a talk if they desired. Many participated in this request.

Some photographs are provided below for your viewing pleasure. All photographs were taken by my nephew and godson Samuel "Buffalo Boy" Necklace on 11 November 1999, at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, Crow Agency, Montana. "Buffalo Boy" also is a singer and drummer along with his father Parnell, older brother Daniel, sister Martina, and friend Victor Logg. The drum, "Maza Napin," roughly translated as Iron Necklace, sang some Veteran's honor songs for the ceremony.
