The South Dakota Oral History Center was commissioned by the Northern Plains Tribal Arts Executive Committee to assist in completing a United States Library of Congress project entitled "Local Legacy." The Oral History Center interviewed 20 artists and committee members asking them questions centered on their participation in the Tribal Arts program. Currently, eight employess of the Oral History Center are transcribing, editing, and final typing the interview. When this is completed, the information will be compressed into a 120 minute audiotape destined for use at the Library of Congress's archives.
