Dr. Carroll M. Mickey, Director, (1966-1967)

The Director of the Institute of Indian Studies is now Dr. Carrol M. Mickey, Department of Sociology, University of South Dakota. For many years prior to this appointment Dr. Mickey was associated with the Institute, and except for the few years when he was away from the University, he was a member of the Institute's executive committee.

Dr. James H. Howard, who resigned from the directorship in June, 1966, will continue as an active participant in the Institute and will continue to hold the position of Director of the South Dakota museum.
