Up to five high school art teachers may be accepted into a special Arts Education Workshop associated with the 2001 Oscar Howe Summer Art Institute. Participants earn 3 credits of graduate credit in ARTE 790: Art Education-Teaching Native American Art. ACTIVITIES Participants work with the Oscar Howe Summer Art Institute faculty and staff, attending lectures and selected studio sessions and are involved in seminar sessions on strategies for teaching art related to Native American cultures. Air-conditioned dormitory rooms are available for participants. Meals are available at the Coyote Student Center or at nearby restaurants. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. For additional information contact: John A. Day, Dean, College of Fine Arts. |
