Reserved Readings in I.D. Weeks Library

Listed below is a package of readings which highlights some of the major legislation affecting Sioux Tribes (in particular the Yankton Sioux) in the Great Sioux Nation. Not everything is included, that would be too multitudinous, however you will gain an understanding of the legislative path that affects Indian governments today as they attempt to serve their people. You are encouraged to peruse the material to trace the effects of jurisdiction and allotment as it existed prior to the Wheeler-Howard Act of 1934, and its aftermath.
