Welcome to the University of South Dakota. Founded in 1862, the U is the state's oldest university. The University of South Dakota has been accredited through the doctoral level by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association since 1913. Individual schools and departments have received additional accreditation from their appropriate professional organizations.
