ABA/BNA Lawyer's Manual on Professional Conduct .The ABA/BNA Lawyer's Manual on Professional Conduct is a multi-volume reference and notification service that functions as a complete research tool in the field of professional responsibility. The Lawyer's Manual has three components: Current Reports, Reference Manual, and Ethics Opinions. Subjects covered by the service include such topics as lawyer's duty of confidentiality, lawyer-client agreements that limit the lawyer's liability, lawyer advertising, fee agreements, obligations of lawyer's leaving their firms, and obligations of corporate counsel learning of wrongdoing by constituents of a corporate client.

Antitrust & Trade Regulations: (BNA) The Antitrust and Trade Regulations Reporter covers federal, state, and international coverage of competition and deceptive trade practices law. It tracks cases brought by the Justice Department's Antitrust Division, the Federal Trade Commission and the state attorneys general, and also judicial decisions in private cases.

Criminal Law Reporter: (BNA) The Criminal Law Reporter is a resource on the enforcement and the interpretation of criminal law with coverage of both federal and state court decisions, federal legislation, and administrative law developments in criminal law.

Family Law Reporter: (BNA) The Family Law Reporter reviews important new federal and state cases, legislation, trends and issues in the area of family law. It contains selected federal statutes and regulations, text of uniform acts adopted by states, brief summaries of state divorce laws, and divorce related taxation issues.

Labor & Employment Law Library: (BNA) This an Internet Database containing statutory information, court decisions, and administrative law developments in Labor Law and Employment Law. It covers the subject areas of fair employment practices, disabilities law, individual employment rights, wages and hours, labor arbitration, labor relations, and collective bargaining. The coverage dates will vary with the topic.

Securities Regulation & Law Reports: (BNA) The Securities Regulation and Law Reports tracks legislative and regulatory proposals and actions affecting securities laws, futures regulation, and accounting issues. It provides up-date information on SEC and CFTC regulations and FASB actions, reviews key No-Action and Interpretive Letters, and covers decisions issued by the courts and administrative agencies.

U. S. Law Week: (BNA) The Law Week Reporter enables the user to track Supreme Court petitions and cases on the docket from filing to final disposition. It publishes the full text of all U. S. Supreme Court decisions as soon as they are issued, and reports important legal developments, non-decisional and pre-decisional.   

Environmental & Water Law

Environment Reporter:  (BNA) This database contains weekly issues published since January 26, 1996. It covers state and federal legislation, regulatory legal and policy news as it applies to all the areas of environmental law. It responds to major environmental decisions by the court and administrative agencies.

Environmental Law Reporter: (ELI) The Environmental Law Institute site provides access to current environmental law and reports. It includes the ELR Update, News & Analysis, Environmental Forum, Wetlands Newsletter, administrative, national and international information about the environment. 

Missouri River Final Biological Opinion: (Public Internet Site) The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has prepared a final biological opinion on the Missouri River for the Army Corps of Engineers. It covers the current operations of the main stem dams and reservoirs, the bank stabilization and navigation channel from Sioux City, Iowa, to the mouth, and operations of the Kansas River projects managed by the Corps.

Missouri River Master Water Control Manual(Public Internet Site) This site provides access to numerous documents and reports of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division.

Water in the West Today: (Public Internet Site) . This document is a report to the Western Water Policy Review Advisory Commission prepared in 1997 by D.Craig Bell, Executive Director of the Western States Water Council.

Western Water Policy Review Advisory Commission Documents(Public Internet Site) "The Western Water Policy Review Advisory Commission was charged with a comprehensive review of federal activities in the western states which affect the use and allocation of water, and the review of numerous aspects of water resources, management, institutional and legal matters, and the performance of federal agencies." Search for documents and reports submitted by and to the commission here.  

Health Law

BNA'S Health Law & Business Library: (BNA) This package of information contains a link to the Health Law Reporter, and links to full-text statutes, regulations, agency documents and case law, as well as news, legal analysis portfolios and practice tools in seven (7) broad areas of health law: Business and Taxation; Fraud, Abuse and Compliance; Health Information and Technology; Health Insurance and Benefits; Hospital and Provider Regulation; Medicare and Medicaid; and Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences.

Health Law Reporter:  (BNA) This is an Internet Database containing weekly issues published since February 1, 1996. The Health Law Reporter provides complete weekly coverage of the entire spectrum of health law, with notification and analysis of significant developments. It includes new cases, federal and state legislation, rules from federal regulators, and enforcement trends.  


International Law

Hein's U. S. Treaties and Agreements Library: Select HEINONLINE from the Wm. S. Hein site. Pop ups must be allowed to access this Internet resource. It searches the following treaty databases; treaty indexes by subject, country, sign date, and treaty name. It also includes numerous treaty books online:

European Center for Minority Issues: This database includes the Journal on Ethnopolitics and Minority Issues in Europe, ECMI Reports, and ECMI Working Papers. These are all part of the HeinOnline subscription.

HeinOnline: (Wm. S. Hein) HeinOnline includes searchable full-text legal journals, federal legislative histories, federal register and statutes at large,  treaties, legal classics, and more. Content is in a fully-searchable image-based format utilizing PDF documents. It may be accessed from any computer on the campus of the University of South Dakota. It includes almost 900 legal periodical titles from volume 1-. More full-text titles and libraries are added each month. Sample content and titles in the collection include:

Free Full-text Online Law Review/Law Journal Search Engine : The ABA Legal Technology Resource Center has created a free full-text online law review/law journal search engine that searches the free full-text of over 400 online law reviews and law journals, as well as document repositories hosing academic papers and related publications such as Congressional Research Service reports. In addition to a list of journals searched, includes links to journals with free full-text content online which must be searched/browsed manually.

University Law Review Project : Full-text search of all academic law journals available on the Web. These free services have been setup by Findlaw and the Coalition of Online Journals with help from Verity, the Australasian Legal Information Institute, the Legal Information Institute at Cornell, Stanford University, JURIST - The Law Professors' Network and many law schools and journals throughout the world.


Reference Works This Public Internet Site searches Columbia Encyclopedia-6th, American Heritage Dictionary-4th, Roget's II, American Heritage Book of English Usage, Columbia World of Quotations, Simpson's Contemporary Quotations, Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, King James Bible, Oxford Shakespeare, Gray's Anatomy, Strunk's Elements of Style, World Factbook, and the Columbia Gazetteer by author, subject, or title.  This Public Internet Site allows searching of various dictionaries, thesaurus, encyclopedias, and other reference works.
