Charles M. Thatcher
- Professor Charles M. Thatcher is a past recipient of the University's Belbas-Larson Tenured Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching.
- He has twice received the John Wesley Jackson Memorial Award for Outstanding Professor of Law.
- Professor Thatcher wrote the lead article in Volume 49 of the South Dakota Law Review; the article was entitled Recovery of "Lost Punitive Damages" as "Compensatory Damages" in Legal Malpractice Actions: Transference of Liability or Transformation of Character? He has written on the "battle of the forms" section of the Uniform Commercial Code, a critique of the revisions of the section by the American Law Institute and the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws.
