How to Access

To search this SDLN databases without entering a barcode and password you need to be using a computer located in a library (or on the USD campus) that subscribes to the database through PALS. If you are a patron of a library that subscribes to the database through PALS but you are using a computer located outside of your library or off campus, you will need to logon with your barcode number and password:
  • Your barcode number is a 14 digit number that can be found on your library card or student ID. It is located below an actual barcode on the card and always starts with a 2.
  • Initially, your password is your last name. If your last name is more than eight letters long, it is the first eight letters of your last name.

    • Database Description

    General Magazines is a database that contains over 4.5 million citations for articles from scholarly, general interest, and popular magazines and journals. It also contains full text for over 500,000 of these articles.
