General Sources

Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators is a great all-purpose guide with links to a myriad of subjects. It is a great place to begin looking for information related to education. It includes a very good Internet Search Engine comparison.

Education Online Sources is a big general site to a multitude of topics in Education.

McGraw-Hills Resource Village: A Place for Teachers contains Web-based teaching resources for reading/language arts, mathematics, social studies, and professional development.

Sites for Teachers

The Busy Teacher's Website has an excellent table of contents that provides links to Art, Astronomy, Elementary School, English, History, and many other subject categories.

Just for Teachers includes lesson plans and many other resources for teachers. It is very much like the Just for Kids site.

Teachers Helping Teachers allows teachers to submit tips and ideas to other teachers. It's a site that covers many topics of concern to educational professionals.

Resources for Music Educators is completely dedicated to music teachers! It is one of the few sites with this concentration and provides access to Print and WWW resources.

Lesson Plans and Curriculum Guides

AskERIC Lesson Plans is searchable by keyword and includes subject specific lesson plans.

Collaborative Lesson Archive contains lesson plans for Grades 2 through 12. Topics vary throughout the grade levels.

The TeachNet.org has a very nice Search page that allows you to check subjects and grade levels. It can also be searched by keyword.

Teacher's Net has links to lesson plans, curriculum, and library. Neat site.

Children and Young Adult Sites

Just for Kids has the Electronic Zoo, Fun with Numbers, The Smithsonian Institution, and the Whitehouse for Kids. This site is informational and fun.

Kid's Internet Resources has too many cool things to mention. It provides a fun way for children to explore the Internet.

Kid's Home Page Includes Fun Sites, Homework Help, and useful sites for Parents, Guardians, and Educators. It is very good for finding age-appropriate sites for children.

Kid's Web provides access to web servers world-wide. Clean site. Well organized and easy to navigate.

Check It Out

USA Web Schools contains School Web sites from around the United States. The states are split up alphabetically.

The Test Review Locator provided by the Buros Institute of Mental Measurements is great for finding citations to reviews of educational and psychological tests.

The Gifted and Talented Resources Home Page is a fine source of information for anyone working with gifted or talented children or young adults.
