There are many outstanding business sites on the Web. The sites
included here will assist you in bringing a wide variety of business
related information directly into your home. Some of these resources are
business oriented Internet Search Engines. Others are sites provided
by various universities, governmental agencies, or traditional business
reference sources now publishing on the web. Whatever their origin,
all contain links to additional sites and provide for flexible imaginative
research.

Three Internet Search Engines are listed below. Each provides access to a wealth of information. Take time to investigate each. While you may prefer one over another, each one is an excellent window to the world of business.
Yahoo Business and Economy contains a huge list of links to sites of interest to any student of business. Categories include Economic Indicators, International Economy, Marketing, and many others. In addition, Yahoo Business and Economy can be searched by terms supplied by students or other researchers.
Yahoo Finance provides access to quotes on Major U.S. Indices and Major World Indices. Yahoo Finance contains Currency Conversion.
Excite has a very nice Business Channel that is well organised and leads to information on many topics including Sales & Marketing and Small Business.
The Infoseek Business Channel
has a layout similar to the Excite Business Channel. It too has many useful categories such as
Business Law
and
Electronic Commerce.
StockMaster is a guide to finding delayed stock and mutual fund quotes. It includes links to Top Stocks and Funds by Name.
Wall Street Research Net is a dense resource of over 190,000 links to companies, markets, mutual funds, business news, and research publications.
Corporate Financials Online links to news of publicly-traded companies. It also includes a News Archive.
Bloomberg Personal
contains information on Markets,
News and
Money.
It has both free and pay sites.
The Rutgers Accounting Web's Accounting Resoures on the Internet is well designed and easy to use. Rutgers also has links to many Other Accounting Sites.
Other nice accounting sites include Pro2Net Accounting
and Accountant's Home Page.
The U.S. Department of Commerce provides a web site that is a gateway to numerous and diverse government business related sites.
The Economic Statistics Briefing Room provides access to current economic indicators such as Production and Business Activity; Employment, Unemployment, and Earnings; and Money, Credit and Securities Markets.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics web site contains information on The Economy at a Glance and Publications and Research Papers. It also offers keyword searching of BLS web pages.
The Federal Reserve Board has a site that includes links to Statistics: Releases and Historical Data, Press Releases to Board Actions, and to many other similar web sites.
The SEC EDGAR Database is provided by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Interesting SEC pages include About the SEC, Proposed Rules, Final Rules, and Search the EDGAR Database.
The U.S. Census Bureau offers a
vast amount of information at its site. At this site, the U.S. Census
Bureau provides access to business related information such as Subjects
A-Z, News, and Census Economic Briefing Room.
Companies Online Is similar to Hoover's Online. It is a great site for looking up basic company information.
Fortune
500 provides a flexible page for researchers. The Fortune
500 List gives company snapshots (revenues, profits, etc.) of Fortune
500 companies. Top
Performers provides access to categories such
as Highest
Profits and Biggest
Increases in Profits.
Fortune Global 500 lists the world's largest industrial and service companies. In Fortune Global 500 you can search for Top Performers and you can also search a Company List. The Fortune Global 500 includes many other useful categories as well.
The European Business Directory
is searchable by terms provided by researchers. It also includes Search by Company Name.
