Counseling Associations

Counseling Associations and Resources can be found at the sites below. Although most associations want you to purchase a membership in their organization, they are good places to locate information on the Counseling Professions.

Clinical Psychology Resources provides an organized and highly useful page that has information on many aspects of Clinical Psychology including Assessment and Psychotherapy.

The American Psychological Association maintains the PsychNET page which allows you to click on Public Info and APA Journals.

The American Counseling Association has a good Government Relations page. It also has a Practice Resources page and a page for Students in Counselor Education.

The American Psychiatric Association's APA Online has a Public Information page as well as a Library and Publications page. It also includes a good set of links to Other Psychiatric Associations.

One of the strengths of the American School Counseling Association page is the group of Links to Resources for School Counselors that it provides.

Peer Resources provides interseting sections such as What is Mentoring?, or What is Coaching. It also has ODDYSEY, The Newsletter of the National Mentor Program Developers.
