Alcohol and drug abuse are serious concerns for any society. For students
studying the problems attendant with substance abuse, the pages below will
provide valuable points of reference.
HealthSpan Communications Alcohol and Drug Resources is a vast page that links to Associations and Agencies, International Resources, Tobacco Information, and additional related resources.
The NIAAA, National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism provides a page with Publications Databases that give access to full text articles and has the ETOH Database Online that is keyword searchable.
Web of Addictions contains categories such as New, which includes a link to ealier What's New Pages. The main Web of Addictions pages also has a link to Facts . The Fact Sheets are great for quick access to information on alcohol and other drugs.
PREVLINE, Prevention Online by the
National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information has Publications,
including Publications by Audience and Publications in Series. This page
also has searchable Databases that
provide citations to journal articles.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse has excellent information on Drugs of Abuse and in Publications has online articles and monographs.
ARF Addiction Resources Foundation has sections that are currently under construction, but it is still a very good page. The Drug and Alcohol Info Page has excellent links and the Bibliographies from the ARF Library provides a large list of drug and alcohol publications.
The Santa Barbara Alcohol and Drug Program Online Information Service is not the easiest page to use, however, it does have useful information. Online Resources links to World Wide Web Resources that are very good sites.
The Lindesmith Center is based
in Manhatten and is a drug policy research institute. The Online Library Subject Index of
this page provides a table with links to subjects such as Alternatives to
Prohibition and Drug Testing.
A cautionary note about this site is important. Be very careful to
evaluate the information contained at this site for potential bias.
