Citation databases provide access to bibliographic information on published works such as journal articles, books, or microforms. Bibliographic information includes author, article title, journal title, volume number, page, date, and publisher.
A citation database does not provide the text of articles. Many citation databases are discipline specific. The following databases are examples of citation databases:
Full-Text databases provide access to the text of articles. These articles can appear in popular magazines, scholary journals, newspapers, newsletters, and trade publications, such as Time, Parenting Magazine, or Bilingual Research Journal. Most full-text databases are multi-disciplinary.
