LibQUAL+ Survey

As part of the University Libraries and the Wegner Health Science Information Center's commitment to supporting teaching, learning, and research among faculty, students, staff, and others, we are conducting the LibQUAL+ survey in March. LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users' opinions of service quality.  These services are offered to the library community by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). The program's centerpiece is a rigorously tested Web-based survey paired with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library. The survey instrument measures library users' minimum, perceived and desired levels of service quality across three dimensions: Information Control, Affect of Service, and Library as Place. Responses to the survey are anonymous. The survey will be taking place from March 12th through March 25th.

The purpose of the survey is to: 

  • Help the library better understand user perceptions of library service quality 
  • Facilitate the on-going collection and interpretation of library user feedback
  • Identify best practices in library service

The USD Office of Human Subjects Protection of the Office of Research determined that this project does require IRB review.
