Policies
1. The clientele served by electronic reference
are University of South Dakota students, faculty, and staff.
2. An initial response will normally be provided within 48 hours, except on
weekends, university holidays, and unscheduled closings.
3. Electronic Reference provides answers to brief factual questions. This includes
checking citations; checking library holdings; locating addresses or telephone
numbers; verifying information on a specific book or journal; and providing
basic guidance in conducting library research on a topic.
4. Circulation transaction requests, such as renewals and placing holds, and
Interlibrary Loan requests are not provided through this service. users making
such requests will be referred to the appropriate library department.
