DAETC programs and services

The Dakota Aids Education and Training Center provides a number of programs, materials and presentations to support North and South Dakota's primary and mental health providers.

DAETC Programs:

  • Clinical Education - Individualized clinical mini-sabbatical experiences can be arranged in Denver, Colorado or a one-day experience can be arranged locally in Sioux Falls.  The goal of our clinical education programs is to improve the practitioner's ability to provide on-going care to patients with HIV/AIDS.
  • Self-Study Continuing Education Materials
  • Program Development and Presentation - The staff at the DAETC has considerable experience in setting up and/or presenting didactic programs, including workshops, in-services, conferences and educator training on a number of topics including:  Epidemiology and prevention; immunology and virology; clinical manifestation and treatment; psychosocial issues; legal/ethical/policy issues; control of blood borne pathogens in health care settings; health promotion and disease prevention strategies; counseling needs of HIV-infected persons.  We can help arrange speakers for programs in your facility.

DAETC Physician Consultation Services:
Consider the Dakota AIDS Education and Training Center as your resource for state-of-the-art HIV-related information.  Consultation for HIV/AIDS clinical questions is available to North and South Dakota physicians via the “E-mail Clinical Consultation Service”.

Other  Dakota HIV-Related Information and Resources:
The HIV Sourcebook for the Primary Care Provider was  developed to meet the special needs of primary care providers who care for HIV-infected persons in North and South Dakota.
