National Network
The Center for Disabilities is a member of a network of 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Research, Education and Service (UCEDDs).
Public Law 88-164 created University Affiliated Facilities, which are now called UCEDDS, in 1962. UCEDDs are currently authorized under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (Public Law 106-402).
All UCEDDs, including the Center for Disabilities, receive their core funding through grants from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities. The Administration on Developmental Disabilities is a program of the Administration for Children and Families which in turn is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Currently there is a UCEDD in each of the 50 states and each of the United States Territories.
