Stephen C Hunt MD MPH
Dr. Hunt is the National Director of the VHA Post-Deployment Integrated Care Initiative, providing leadership for the initiative to develop and support integrated post-combat care clinics in all VA medical centers nationally. He was the co-chair of the VA Evolving Paradigms Conference September 21-25, 2009; this was the largest VA conference on record. The purpose of the conference was to train 3000 VA and DoD clinicians on how to implement team based approaches to the assessment and management of combat related health concerns, including physical injury, mental health conditions and concerns related to environmental agent and toxic chemical exposures. He also established and is currently Chief Consultant for the Deployment Health Clinic at the VA Puget Sound where since 2003 over 4000 returning combat veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan have undergone comprehensive post-combat assessments and follow-up care. Dr. Hunt has spent the past 17 years providing care for and conducting clinical research on combat Veterans from the 1991 Gulf War. Dr. Hunt also directs the program at the VA Puget Sound that provides evaluations and care for veterans with Agent Orange exposures, ionizing radiation exposures and other toxic environmental exposures related to military service. Since the early 1990’s Dr. Hunt and his clinic have completed more than 1500 Gulf War Registry exams and similar numbers of Agent Orange Registry exams. He is involved in clinical care and research related to health concerns of combat veterans locally, state-wide and at the national level.

He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the University of Washington Occupational and Environmental Medicine Program, where he is developing strategies for recognizing and managing the mental health needs of injured workers. His area of OEM specialty is related to the health impacts of military service as an occupation and combat as an environment.
Robin Carter-Visscher  Robin Carter Visscher, PhD
Dr. Carter-Visscher is a Licensed Psychologist with specific training and expertise in PTSD. She graduated from Western Michigan University with her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2008 and completed her postdoctoral residency training at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center in 2009. During her graduate training, she specialized in the area of trauma reactions through clinical practice and research with the Trauma Research Laboratory.  As a Psychology Intern at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, she furthered this specialty training in the Posttraumatic Stress Recovery Clinic and completed training in evidence-based therapies for PTSD. She is currently employed at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center as the PTSD-Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Specialist and also serves as the Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator. In her current position, she routinely conducts clinical assessments of PTSD and provides evidence-based treatments for PTSD including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. In addition to individual therapy for PTSD, Dr. Carter-Visscher also provides services such as a one week group PTSD Intensive Outpatient Program to increase quality of life for Veterans living with PTSD, leads groups focusing on establishing safety in the first phase of recovery from co-occurring PTSD and Substance Use Disorders, and facilitates support groups for Veterans living with PTSD.
Larry Tentinger  Larry Tentinger, EdD
Senior Chief Petty Officer, USNR-Retired, Larry Tentinger, is a Combat Veteran of Vietnam with the Army, Desert Storm with the Navy, and three tours in Iraq with the United States Marine Corps Infantry Division.  He was selected as the 2004 Navy Reserve Force Sailor of the Year being ranked number one out of 87,000. He currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Kinesiology and Sports Science at the University of South Dakota.  He lives in Beresford, SD with his wife, Darlene.
  Mark DeGraw
Mark DeGraw is a father of four and a Disabled Veteran. He is retired from the US Navy and Army National Guard, serving from 1978 till 1990. His areas of operation included Beirut Lebanon, Japan, Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Pacific serving on 8 ships in addition to Beach Master Unit 2.  Mark is currently in active recovery with PTSD, depression and anxiety. He is active with his church and other community projects such as Boy Scouting. He is a member of the DAV, VFW, and American Legion in Sioux Falls, as well as a Member of National Association of Peer Specialist (NAPS) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).  Mark is currently serving as a Peer Support Specialist at the Sioux Falls VA Regional Medical Center where he is using his lived mental health recovery experiences to assist other Veterans in the PTSD and Dual Diagnosis programs.
  Sally Bates
Sally Bates is an Army Veteran from the Vietnam Era.  She served as the Consumer Council President for South Dakota National Alliance on Mental Illness for 2 years.  She also served on the board of Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership for 4 years.  She is in active recovery with bi-polar disorder, PTSD-MST, and anxiety disorder.  She is currently a Peer Support Specialist at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center utilizing her lived recovery experiences to assist other Veterans.
Kenneth Lee 

Kenneth Lee, MD
Dr. Kenneth Lee is the Chief of Spinal Cord Injury Division at Zablocki VAMC, Milwaukee WI and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  Dr. Lee joined the Army in 1986 and currently holds the rank of Colonel in the Wisconsin Army National Guard with the duty assignment of State Surgeon.

As an Iraqi war veteran, Dr. Lee’s personal history provides a strong connection to the Veterans he serves. In November of 2003, while stationed in Iraq as commander of a Wisconsin Army National Guard medical battalion, Dr. Lee was severely injured in a Baghdad car bombing.  Dr. Lee was MEDEVAC to Lahnstuhl, Germany for his initial care and then transferred to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He sustained multiple schrapnel and traumatic brain injury during this incident. For his military service, Dr. Lee was awarded the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, and an Army Achievement Medal.

In addition to his military and medical services, Dr. Lee participates in numerous community activities.  He serves as the team physician for the Milwaukee IRON QUAD Team, he is the National Surgeon for the Military Order of the Purple Heart.  He also serves as a national physician for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games and Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic.  For his community and military service, Dr. Lee was awarded the Milwaukee County Veteran of the Year Award in 2008.
