Other Honors

Thomas Dean, MD, Clinical Professor, Wessington Springs, was named Rural Health Practitioner of the Year by the National Rural Health Association.

David A. Brechtelsbauer, MD, Professor, Sioux Falls, received the Class of 1954 Warren L., Jones, MD Faculty Award.  This award is presented by the Sanford School of Medicine Alumni Relations Council.

David A. Brechtelsbauer, MD, Professor, Sioux Falls, is the President of the American Medical Directors’ Association.

Dr. H. Bruce Vogt, MD, Professor and Chair, DFM;  Mr. Scot Graff, Instructor, DFM and Executive Director, Community Healthcare Association of the Dakotas; and Thomas Dean, MD, Clinical Professor, were invited presenters at the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services at their meeting in Rapid City this past June.  The committee is chaired by the Honorable David M. Beasley, former Governor of South Carolina, and meet three times a year holding two of the meetings “in the field.”
