John L. Boice Scholarship

The John L. Boice Internal Medicine Residency Scholarship has been established to honor Dr. John L. Boice's significant leadership to the Internal Medicine Residency Program from 1992-2004. This scholarship is used for the benefit of Internal Medicine residents enrolled in Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota Department of Internal Medicine Residency Program. The Scholarship may be used to support the Resident's research or for educational materials.

The recipient of the scholarship will be chosen by a selection committee composed of the Internal Medicine Residency Administration:  Program Director, Associate Program Director, and Residency Program Coordinators. The selection committee will use the following criteria in awarding this scholarship:

  1. Second-year Internal Medicine resident
  2. Demonstrates leadership
  3. Interested in research
  4. Interested in academic medicine
