White Coat Ceremony

We welcomed 54 students into the Class of 2013 on July 31, 2009, during the White Coat Ceremony. Fifty of the students are enrolled in the M.D. Program, while four have been accepted into the Physician Scientist Program.

Humanism Society

Six students were inducted in July 2009 into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, sponsored by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. They are: Jennifer Baas of Corsica, Jared Daniel of Vermillion, Aaron Graumann of Sioux Falls, Jennifer Haggar of Hartford, Seth Harrer of Sioux Falls and Jennifer Tinguely of Sioux Falls.

Scholarships

We awarded more than $890,000 in scholarships at the annual scholarship dinner on July 8, 2009. Thank you for your support in providing scholarships to our students.

Alumni Days

We honored the Class of 1959, 1984 and 2004 during our annual alumni celebration in May 2009.

Distinguished Alumni Award

We honored a leader in medicine and the military, Dr. Richard Porter of Sioux Falls, with our 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award at our annual awards dinner in May 2009.

Graduation

Lt. Gov. Dennis Daugaard was the keynote speaker at our annual commencement ceremony in May.
