Overview
Pathology Courses
Medical students receive instruction from textbooks and engage in active learning with microscopes in our pathology courses as part of the M.D. Program.
Medical Technology
We also provide the clinical component for Medical Technology students from a four-state area.
Fourth-Year Electives
The fourth year in medical school is devoted extensively to elective time for the students. The Pathology Department offers several flexible electives which average one month in duration at multiple sites throughout the state. These electives have been and continue to be very popular with the students.
Residencies
We train seven residents through our Graduate Medical Education Program each year. Four residents receive their training at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls while the other three are trained at the Sanford/USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. More information is available here.
