Addressing Health Disparities

The University of South Dakota has partnered with Sanford Research/USD's Health Disparities Research Center, the Montana-Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council and Sinte Gleska University on the development of the Centers of Excellence in Partnerships for Community Outreach, Research on Health Disparities and Training (Project EXPORT - Establishing Exploratory Centers).

What Project EXPORT Does
  • Advances the science directed towards impacting health disparities through a variety of research endeavors.
  • Increases the number of researchers and professionals from health disparity populations trained in biomedical and behavioral research through the creation of a mentoring program.
  • Increases the dissemination and utilization of scientific and health information relevant to health diversity populations.

Project EXPORT is funded through grant number 5P20MD1631 from the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities, a center of the National Institutes of Health.
