Child & Adolescent Application Requirements
All applications to the Psychiatry Residency will be accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Application requirements
- Short biographical sketch of less than 500 words
- Letter of recommendation from the dean of your medical school
- Letters of recommendation from two physicians, both of whom were either your teachers/attendings or an advisor, dated within the last year
- Official transcipts from all medical schools and other programs attended
- Personal interview (please bring a small photo)
- Complete an application form
Interviews
- Candidates interview with 4 of 5 faculty members and the program director
- Interviews typically last an entire morning
- Interviews take place at Avera Behavioral Health Center and the VA Medical Center
- Lunch with two current residents will be provided
