Geriatrics Application Requirements
Thank you for your interest in our program. You may apply for a Geriatric Fellowship position for 2013-14 through ERAS. This program does not participate in the Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP) -- applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
Program requirements
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Residency in either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Board eligibility in either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Successful completion of USMLE Steps 1, 2 & 3
- Must be licensable in South Dakota
Application materials
- Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement
- Two letters of recommendation
- Letter of recommendation from your residency program director (in addition to the two other letters)
- If not applying immediately after residency, a letter of reference from your latest employer**
- USMLE certified transcript of scores that includes USMLE Steps 1, 2 & 3
- Copy of ECFMG certificate if you are a foreign medical graduate
- Residency Graduate Certificate from either an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program
- Copy of current visa (if applicable) -- H-1B or J-1 accepted
- Recent photo of self
Interviews
- All application documents must be received before an interview will be extended
- Available interview dates will be conveyed to candidates by emailed invitation
- Applicants will interview with Program Director Dr. David Sandvik, MD, and at least one other faculty member
- Hotel information and interview schedule will be emailed following confirmation of interview date
