Our State

Peace in the country.

The pace is slower in South Dakota. Rural landscapes define the state. Outdoor enthusiasts relish the opportunity to boat, bike, hunt, fish, camp, hike, ski, and enjoy nature's blessings.

South Dakota lays claim to the best pheasant hunting and walleye fishing in the nation. The Missouri River cuts a swath through the center of the state, serving as an idyllic gateway to the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, and the Black Hills in the west.

Closer to Sioux Falls, Palisades and Newton Hills state parks are less than a half-hour drive from the city. Picturesque Lewis and Clark Lake provides over 31,000 acres of water fun for southeast South Dakota residents.
