Announcement: The Center for Disabilities located at the University of South Dakota, Sanford School of Medicine (USD-SSOM) will be closing its Dietetic Internship program at the completion of the 2014/2015 academic year. The effective date of closure is July 21, 2015. We will no longer be accepting applications for the internship program. The Dietetic Internship at the Center for Disabilities is a post baccalaureate program for individuals who have completed Didactic Program in Dietetics requirements and at least a bachelor's degree. The internship provides the supervised practice experience necessary to become eligible to take the national registration examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. The concentration area for the Dietetic Internship is adults and children with disabilities. The Dietetic Internship is a full time program which requires at least a bachelor's degree. The program runs from September through June.

Applications must be received by February 15, 2014 through DICAS as well as registration with D&D Digital.

There are no graduate assistantships associated directly with the Dietetic Internship. However, depending upon federal grant funding available, students enrolled in South Dakota State University's graduate nutrition program may be eligible to apply for a graduate assistantship through the South Dakota LEND Program. The application for the South Dakota LEND Program is due by March 1, 2014 for the 2014-2015 academic year.
