The Sanford School of Medicine Cardiovascular Fellowship is an ACGME-accredited program that began training fellows July 1, 2012. The program is three years in length and is accredited for two fellows per year, for a total of six fellows. As of January 2016, the program has received ACGME continuous accreditation status. (For the first three years, the fellowship had ACGME initial accreditation status as a new program.)
The Cardiovascular Fellows receive their education in the newly constructed, state-of-the-art Sanford Heart Hospital (open March 2012), located on the campus of Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Key Clinical Faculty of the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program are proud to be part of the Sanford Cardiovascular Institute, a progressive, quality-defining cardiovascular group in the region.
In addition to receiving a solid educational experience, the Cardiovascular Fellows may also take advantage of the exceptional research opportunities at the Sanford Cardiovascular Health Research Center.
