Preliminary residents rotate in traditional four-week blocks. They spend five months on the inpatient teaching service, one month in the emergency department, and six months in elective rotations, including research. With the flexibility in planning elective rotations, preliminary residents can tailor the experience to their specific educational goals by selecting from the following two to four week elective experiences:
