The University of South Dakota Announces Resignation

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Teddi A. Joyce, Ph.D., Vice President for Marketing, Enrollment and Student Services at The University of South Dakota, today announced she is resigning the position effective August 28, to become Vice President of Enrollment Management at Western State College of Colorado.

“With strong numbers projected for the incoming class, new marketing initiatives planned, a new student fitness center in process and the beautiful Muenster University Center serving the hub for student activities, this is an exciting time at The University of South Dakota. Now is the time for me to pursue other challenges,” said Joyce. “The University of South Dakota presented me with an extraordinary opportunity and I’m thankful to President Abbott and the University community for the support they’ve provided over these past three years.”

University president James W. Abbott announced associate vice president Jeffrey Baylor will serve as the interim Vice President for Marketing, Enrollment and Student Services.

Baylor came to USD in 2008 from St. Leo University (Fla.) where he served as assistant vice president of student services and as assistant vice president for enrollment management. From 2000 to 2005, Baylor worked in various administrative roles at Thiel College (Pa.), including dean of admissions and dean of enrollment. Prior to that, he was employed at his alma mater, Marietta College (Ohio), from 1994 to 1999.
