VERMILLION, S.D. -- The Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota, the Office of Human Resources at USD and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity at USD are sponsoring an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) outreach program at two southeast South Dakota locations next week.
“EEOC Grab Bag: An Overview of Federal EEO Law & Hot Employment Issues,” will be presented on the USD Campus, Tuesday, April 14 at 8:30 a.m. at the Muenster University Center and on Wednesday, April 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Avera Auditorium at University Center North in Sioux Falls, S.D.
This outreach program will cover such topics as workplace harassment, responding to requests for religious and disability accommodations, age discrimination, an overview of governing EEOC statutes and the EEO complaint process. The program also includes a keynote address by Maria E. Flores, a program manager with the U.S. EEOC since 1999, who will discuss anti-discrimination laws that govern the workplace. A question and answer session will follow Flores’ presentation.
“EEOC Grab Bag: An Overview of Federal EEO Law & Hot Employment Issues” is free and open to the public.
