VERMILLION, S.D. -- Charles (Chad) Vogel joined the staff of The University of South Dakota Foundation on March 16. Vogel will be assisting the College of Arts and Sciences as a major gifts officer to increase funding for various priorities of the College, including scholarship and faculty support.
He is a native of Cherokee, Iowa, and a 1996 graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. Vogel earned a graduate certificate from Western Michigan University in non-profit leadership and administration in 1999, and a Masters of Arts degree in education from Dakota Wesleyan University in 2008.
"I am honored to have been chosen to work on behalf of South Dakota's flagship liberal arts university," said Vogel. "I am excited to work with the graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences to establish scholarships that enable the University to continue to recruit the brightest students from South Dakota and beyond."
Prior to coming to USD, Vogel was director of athletics/athletic development at Dakota Wesleyan University. He has also held development positions at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Foundation and the Rapid City Club for Boys, Foundation Inc.
Vogel and his wife, Angela, are the parents of two daughters, Melanie, 5, and Danielle, 1.
