VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University Art Galleries at The University of South Dakota will host a reception for the exhibit, “Hello!” at the John A. Day this Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
“Hello!” is an exhibition that features recent artworks created by graphic designers, animators and motion graphic designers inspired by activities in everyone’s daily lives.
Drawn nationally, the artists and educators represented in the show include John Jennings (University of Illinois), Scott Boylston (Savannah College of Art and Design), Bum Joon Kim, Robert Grame (University of Texas - Arlington), Zoran Belic (Savannah College of Art and Design), Andrew Bridewell of Santa Fe, N.M., Neves Purificacao Rodrigues (New York, N.Y.) Bernard Canniffe (Minneapolis College of Art and Design), Seiji Ikeda (University of Texas - Arlington), Jared Lantzman of Tampa, Fla., Eric Benson (UIUC), and Young Ae Kim of USD.
Curator for “Hello!” is Young Ae Kim, assistant professor, while the exhibition was designed by Eddie Welch, director of the University Art Galleries. The show concludes its run at the John A. Day Gallery on Friday, Jan. 29. The gallery is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.
