KPMG LLP professionals to address School of Business students

VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business will host accounting professionals from KPMG LLP at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov.17 at Beacom Hall (Room 208).

John J. Aesoph, an audit partner from KPMG LLP Omaha and a Certified Public Accountant, is the featured guest speaker. He will address Beacom School of Business students about “Fair Value and Fraud.”  The event, which is open to the public, is hosted by Beta Alpha Psi, the National Honors Fraternity for Financial Information Professionals.

Aesoph received a B.B.A. degree with a major in accounting from the USD business school in 1994. He has assisted several public companies with complex accounting and auditing issues such as SEC filings, initial public offerings, revenue recognition issues and business combinations. Aesoph has been with KPMG LLP for more than a decade.  Prior to joining KPMG LLP, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and MCI WorldCom. 

The Beacom School of Business regularly hosts business leaders, government officials, successful alumni and other guest speakers in a variety of forums to discuss current business issues and trends as well as offer leadership perspectives.
