USD Dakota Days 2011 theme announced as 'Raise the Dust'

VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota wants students, alumni and the university community to join together, celebrate and “Raise the Dust” for Dakota Days 2011.

“Raise the Dust,” this year’s theme for South Dakota’s annual homecoming event, is pulled straight from USD’s “Get Along Coyotes” fight song. The Dakota Days Committee invites students, faculty, staff and the community to be a part of the movement to “Raise the Dust” and get involved in several activities and competitions throughout the week of Dakota Days 2011, which is Oct. 3-8.

More information, including a parade schedule and list of events, will be released on the Dakota Days 2011 web site www.usd.edu/dakotadays or on the Dakota Days Facebook page.

Lyrics and playable mp3 files of all three of USD’s fight songs, including “Get Along Coyotes,” can be found at http://admissions.usd.edu/about-usd/usd-fight-songs.cfm.
