USD Accounting Students Receive 7 of 11 South Dakota CPA Society Scholarships

Accounting students at the University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business are among the 2015-16 scholarship winners announced by the South Dakota CPA Society.

Beacom accounting students received $15,500 of the total $19,500 in scholarships awarded. The students were awarded seven of the eleven South Dakota CPA Society Accounting Excellence Scholarships.  The winners: Reanna Bertram, Vermillion, South Dakota; Morgan Ellefson, Garretson, South Dakota; Nicholas Monahan, Wayne, Nebraska; Kathryn Staley, Charter Oak, Iowa; Shane VanDeBerg, Garretson, South Dakota; Jared Weber, Parkston, South Dakota; Carrie Wintle, Iroquois, South Dakota; and Vonda Cotton, Watertown, South Dakota.

In addition, Vonda Cotton was awarded the only 2015-16 South Dakota CPA Society Accounting Program Completion Scholarship for her continued study in the fast-track Bachelors of Business Administration/Master of Professional Accountancy program. 

USD’s Beacom School of Business offers a Master of Professional Accountancy program that allows students to earn the credits and background needed to be eligible for the CPA exam in South Dakota.  The full-time on-campus MPA program can be completed in a little as 12 months or simultaneously with the Bachelors of Business Administration degree as part of the fast-track program.
