USD Theatre Presents Family Musical Seussical


VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota Department of Theatre presents the family musical, Seussical, April 16-19 and 22-27 in the Wayne S. Knutson Theatre of the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts.

Seussical brings the beloved characters of Dr. Seuss’s lyrical and rhythmic books to life, drawing on Horton Hears a Who!, Horton Hatches an Egg, The Cat in the Hat, Yertle the Turtle, The Butter Battle Book, Oh The Thinks You Can Thhink, Green Eggs and Ham and many more.

The production stars Ella Wittmuss as the child Jo-Jo, Kristian Asfeldt as the Cat in the Hat, Ceci Quintero as Gertrude McFuzz, Kelsey Mitteness as Mayzie La Bird, Christa Gesicki as the Sour Kangaroo, Nathanial Vogel as the Grinch and Austin Vetter as Horton the Elephant.

Seussical will be presented April 16-18, April 22-25 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. and on April 19, 25, and 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wayne S. Knutson Theatre on the USD campus. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens age 62 and older. Tickets for students K-12, as well as non-USD students with an I.D., are $10. USD students may attend for $5. Tickets can be purchased from noon to 5:00 p.m. daily by calling the USD Theatre Box Office at (605) 677-5400 or online.
