VERMILLION, S.D. — University of South Dakota students can get free tickets to Wednesday's first-round game of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) at the DakotaDome in which the Coyotes host Creighton.
The 64-team field was announced late Monday. The winner will meet either Minnesota or Milwaukee in the second round at a date and time to be determined. (Link to the bracket.)
South Dakota is competing in a postseason tournament for the sixth consecutive season and is making its third WNIT appearance in that span. Wednesday’s 7 p.m. contest is a rematch of a first round WNIT game played last season in Vermillion and won 68-58 by South Dakota. The Coyotes and Bluejays are meeting for the sixth consecutive season.
Tickets for Wednesday’s game are $15 for adults and $5 for youth. Tickets can be ordered online at GoYotes.com, by phone at 605-677-5959 or in person at the Coyote ticket office, where USD students can pick up their free tickets with their ID.
Head coach Amy Williams, who with other USD athletic leaders and coaches has urged Coyote fans to wear red to games, tweeted Tuesday: "Calling all Yote fans!
@SDCoyotesWBB back in the Dome Wednesday night! Be there! We feed off your energy!"
