Farber Center at USD welcomes author, climber Ed Webster |
|
| VERMILLION, S.D. -- The W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership at The University of South Dakota, in cooperation with the College of Arts & Sciences and the Political Science League, welcomes Ed Webster to the USD campus on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 4 p.m. in Farber Hall, which is located inside Old Main. |

| Webster, one of America's most well-known mountaineers and rock climbers, is scheduled to present the program "My Storm Years on Everest." Perhaps best known for his 1988 climbing route of Mount Everest, where he ascended without oxygen bottles, radios or any Sherpa assistance, the most remote, dangerous and difficult flank of Earth’s highest mountain, Webster has climbed peaks in Canada, Europe, Scandinavia and the British Isles. An author of five books, following his address at USD, Webster will sign copies of his best-selling autobiography, "Snow in the Kingdom," which describes all three of his expeditions to Mount Everest.
